Shirdi occupies a place of pride among the spiritual destinations of Maharashtra and is best known for its world famous temple ‘Sai Baba Mandir’. This small town in Ahmednagar district is home to the famous temple of Shri Sai Baba, which attracts devotees in lakhs, not only from the state but from across India and the world. Pilgrims belonging to all faiths throng here all the year round.Shri Sai Baba Sansthan. Shirdi was established in the year 1922 to carry out the noble service of Shri Sai Baba. From the year 1922 to August of 1989 the establishment staff provided various facilities for the devotees. On May 4, 1990 Bhoomi Pujan of ‘Sai Baba Bhakta Niwas’ was performed. The Sansthan is publishing various photos and books on Shri Sai Baba in many languages. The trust has started English medium schools three years ago. Scholarships are given to the poor and clever students every year by the Sansthan. The Chairperson and the members of the trust are taking keen interest to provide facilities to the villagers and devotees.
Baba’s Sacred Body has been laid to eternal rest (Samadhi) here. The edifice of this main Mandir (Temple) was constructed with Baba’s blessing, by Shri Gopalrao Butti of Nagpur, an ardent devotee of Baba. It is therefore also known as “Butti Wada”. Baba’s Beautiful lifesize idol is installed near His Samadhi in this shrine. All rituals, comprising Pooja, Abhishek and daily four Aaratis, are performed here.
This is the place where sacred body of Baba is resting in Samadhi. Shri Gopalrao Butty of Nagpur constructed this building, This place is also known as 'Butty Wada'. It consists of Shrine and of a beautiful idol of Shri Sai Baba.
This was Baba’s abode (located within Samadhi Mandir Complex) continuously for sixty years till he took Samadhi.Baba blessed innumeranble devotees here. The Sheela (Stone), on which Baba used to sit, is located in Dwarkamai.The sacred fire (Dhuni) lit by Baba is also eternally burning here. Baba used to give Sacred Udi (Ash) from this Dhuni to his devotees to fulfill their wishes. Even now, Udi is distributed to devotees from this Dhuni. Baba used to cook food here and distribute it among his devotees.
Chavadi is located nearby, on the eastern side of Samadhi Mandir Complex. On every alternate day, Baba used to proceed in procession from Dwarkamai to Chavadi at night and sleep there. Even now, on every Thursday Baba’s Photo, Holy Padukas (Foot-wear) and Sataka (Baton) are taken in palaquin procession to the Chavadi, between 9.15 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.
This is the place where Shri Sai Baba used to go for a stroll. Nandadeep (oil flame) is kept constantly burning near the Pimple tree planted by Shri Sai Baba himself. Datta Mandir is also there in this garden and Shri Sai Baba’s beloved horse ‘Shamkarna’ (Sham Sundar) is taking eternal rest here. There is also a well here called as ‘Baba’s Shivdi’.

Samadhis of Shri Tatya Patil Kote, Shri Bhau Maharaj Kumbhar, Shri Padmanabha Iyer, Shri Nanawali and Shri Abdul Baba, who were Baba’s ardent devotees and were closely associated with him during His life time, are located within Samadhi Mandir Complex, Near Lendi Baug.
Besides the forgoing, other temples located within Samadhi Mandir Complex are Shri Ganesh Temple, Shri Shani Temple, and Shri Mahadeo Temple.
This Temple is located near Shree Saibaba Hospital on Nagar-Manmad Road. When the marriage party of chand Patil’s wife’s nephew came to Shirdi, they had taken shelter under the banyan tree located near this temple. When Shree Saibaba, who had accompanied this marriage party, alighted with others in the open ground of the temple, the Pujari (Priest) of the temple welcomed this Young Ascetic with the words “Aao Sai” (“Come Sai”).SHIRDI
Baba was first spotted (within Samadhi Mandir Complex) when he was sixteen years old. Baba used to refer to this spot as his Guru’s (Mentor’s) location. The famous Margosa (Neem) tree, refered to in Shree Sai Satcharitra stands here. According to the beliefs of the devotees, their ailments get cured when incense sticks are burnt here on Thursdays and Fridays. This is the place where Baba first gave his appearance to the world and this place is considered as Baba’s Gurusthan. The famous Margosa (Neem) tree is also here which has a reference in “Sai Sat-Charitra”.
From Shirdi just 02 km away there is a Glass Biroba Temple at Ban. It’s awake Old Famous Temple. There is lot of devotees come from different places. In future what you do?
